Antiochus and Stratonice or Martyrdom of st. Lawrence ?

I've been glancing through  "Francesco Fontebasso - I Disegni" by Marina Magrini and one particular work caught my attention:

The right half of the image looks more like Martyrdom of st. Lawrence to me!
Compare for instance with the typical iconography of this scene:

Luca Giordano. The martyrdom of st. Lawrence. mid 1660-s.

The pagan priest is pointing upwards in the direction of the statue (idol) of Vesta whom st. Lawrence refused to worship. The pose and gesture of the reclining figure depicted by Fontebasso are very similar to those of the Christian martyr. However the kneeling woman figure on the left may indeed refer to Stratonice:

All this can be seen as an unusual compositional device to link together two separate myths. Antiochus was literally burned out by love and Lawrence is being slowly grilled to death. Fontebasso  was likely the sole painter who've ever explored this truly bizarre associative connection between the pagan and Christian stories.
